World of Herbs

The word "herb" is somewhat ill-defined. For my purposes, though, I mean any plant that is or has been used in culinary, cosmetic or medicinal applications. Literally thousands of useful plants exist within nature. These are some that are either found in gardens, or grow wild here in Ontario.

I've always been fascinated by the grand panopoly of herbs around me, since I was a little boy. Once again, it must be my old First Nations bloodline coming through.

In any case, I wanted to share the following photos before I head out on my walk.

Hope you enjoy!

Green Dreams

Green is my favourite colour. It rides the line between cool & warm tones, being both relaxing and stimulating, depending upon the exact shade. It speaks of nature, too, of course. Deep blue-greens of the spruce, rich emeralds of deciduous trees and ferns, lime-greens of new buds in the spring.... the whole range of rich and life-filled colour!

And green, quite naturally, has become the symbol of the environmental movement. To BE green, is to be one who wants to protect and nurture the natural world around us. So, it is so entirely fitting that I'm a GREEN guy. Let me show you my favourite colour!

It may NOT be easy being green, but it does come naturally!
